Job description

As a leading manufacturer of generic, branded, and over-the-counter medicines, Pharmascience is a Montreal-based pharmaceutical company committed to improving health and well-being. The finance team, led by a Vice President of Finance and comprising approximately 60 members, values career development and growth. We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join this team.

The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as an advisor to managers, directors, and vice presidents within Pharmascience's International business unit. Responsibilities include providing financial support to commercial and finance teams by reviewing monthly results, launching new products, supporting business cases, executing margin strategies, and planning forecasts. The role also involves managing business processes within SAP and OneStream, delivering variance analysis, insights, and strategic guidance.

This position involves performing accounting and financial activities related to month-end closing, financial reporting, analysis, and developing process improvements through reference tools. We seek a self-motivated, technically skilled individual who thrives on challenges and aims to optimize processes and drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Role in Dubai (English):
    • Develop, prepare, and present financial results for the MEA region.
    • Support global reporting activities, including month-end and year-end closing.
    • Analyze revenues and expenses monthly for each service project and product sales across three regions.
  2. Planning:
    • Lead forecasting and planning for MEA and support global PSI reporting.
    • Coordinate and prepare financial data for annual budgets and strategic plans in collaboration with departments.
  3. Finance and Trade Support:
    • Assist sales in evaluating new business opportunities.
    • Lead financial projections and planning for new product launches.
    • Provide ad hoc analysis and support margin optimization strategies.
  4. Accounting:
    • Coordinate month-end analysis and journal entries.
    • Present monthly results to finance teams.
    • Handle Year-End accounting for Sales in Transit and support audit requests.
  5. Controls, Processes, and Systems:
    • Review and implement best practices in financial and process controls, including SAP commission accruals.
    • Maintain documentation for business and accounting processes.
    • Collaborate across business units to leverage best practices.
    • Promote continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  6. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond confidently to urgent requests.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and SAP systems.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • High precision, sense of urgency, and attention to detail.
