Job Description

Job Purpose

Management of special credit clients, ensuring compliance with policies as well as external regulations and the Banking legal framework of the country. Study market opportunities, assess their potential and recommend those opportunities that benefit the Bank in terms of Risk & Rewards.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Management & handling of potentially stressed and/or restructured portfolio being assigned in order to retain their quality in line with defined business policies.
  • Negotiate, structure & recommend practical re-structuring solution in conformity with the Bank's underwriting standards and risk adjusted targets after thorough analysis of cash flows & necessary information required for preparation of a detailed credit proposal.
  • Maintain & manage existing group accounts falling within the potentially stressed portfolio.
  • Provide expertise for pro-active monitoring & management of watch-listed clients.
  • Make regular visits to clients for business monitoring purposes. Such visits to be recorded by way of call reports which are to include all pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Target to upgrade problematic relationships and develop into ongoing creditworthy business relationships.
  • Target to exit problematic relationship through an orderly repayment plan.
  • Establish effective & professional communication (both internal and external) to ensure turnaround time within designated parameters and higher client satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate credit administrations through timely completion of annual reviews and regular monitoring of financials, covenants and other parameters within the review cycle.
  • Manage a team of Relationship Officers, set, agree and measure annual targets, provide professional advice, guidance, training & motivation to enhance their potential & capabilities to hold higher responsibilities, and conduct their performance reviews.
  • Comply with internal audit requirements in line with the policy guidelines, to ensure high standards of uniformity and consistency across the Bank.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the local business environment. Contribute to the planning process in order to develop corporate business strategies.
  • Provide Management with reports & MIS on a regular basis.
  • Develop a strong level of local contacts with the local business and financial institutions community.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate banking with at least 8 years of exposure to Corporate Banking in the UAE. Ideally, the incumbent should have had exposure to one or more emerging markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to prepare plans and strategies.
  • The ability to forge close relationships with external constituents as a senior representative of the bank.
  • Degree in Economics or Finance or Business Management.

Skills

  • Good command of English and Arabic languages.
