Job summary

Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Field Instrument Engineer to lead site surveys, instrumentation installation, and commissioning for complex projects. You will develop schedules, specify instruments, and coordinate with vendors, procurement, and control systems teams to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s or diploma in engineering with at least 8 years in field instrumentation, F&B/FF knowledge (HART/Fieldbus) is advantageous, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• A Degree or Diploma in Engineering, preferably Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics.
• Minimum 8 years of field instrumentation project/construction experience.
• Experience with control systems (DCS) is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

In return, we offer you great career opportunities to grow yourself in a truly global culture where respect, value creation, collaboration, integrity, and gratitude are highly valued and exhibited in everything we do.**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities** · Execute Site survey for field instrumentation scope· Planning, scheduling and executing the construction scope of instrumentation work as defined in project scope.· Preparation of Project schedule/Construction schedule and WBS.· Technical evaluation of vendor quotations.· Work out the hardware requirement & prepare hook up drawings, MTO.· Coordinate with Procurement department & obtain quotes for the instrumentation hardware and support sales team in their offer preparation.· Coordinate with control system team for instrumentation requirements and configuration requirements.· Support in preparation of instrument data sheets, specifications, layouts.· Preparation of cable specifications, cable schedules, cable routing drawings, JB schedule and other erection related documents including method statements.· Other works related to EPC project execution which will involve in site works related to control system/field instruments installation and commissioning.· Flowmeter sizing calculations and selection.· Control valve sizing and selection.· Hands on experience in instrument calibration, installation and commissioning support.· Working experience on DCS Systems is preferable and will be added advantage.· Loop checking, troubleshooting of field instrumentation and interface to Control System during commissioning.· Conversant with Foundation Fieldbus, HART, Digital valve positioners, Partial Stroke test.· Handling HART communicators, Fieldbus communicators for loop checking, Calibration and re-ranging of instruments.· Foundation Fieldbus instruments commissioning.· Co-ordination and support for all site pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.· Involvement with site shutdown and tie-in activities.· Compliance with the relevant project specifications and standards.· Estimation of Manpower and material requirements for the construction related activities.· Supervision of Installation Contractor work.· Liaison with Lead Project Engineer, suppliers/ vendors as required.· Coordination with Document Controller for Control of Project documentation and QC Engineer for Inspection and Testing related activities. **Qualification and Experience**· A Degree or Diploma in Engineering Field. Preferably in Instrumentation or Electrical or Electronics.· Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of project and construction activities in field Instrumentation. Experience in control system is an added advantage. **Competencies** · Good knowledge on Field Instrumentation erection, commissioning activities and Control System.· Meeting project schedules on time with quality.· Implementing field instrumentation construction work which can achieve company and customer schedules and targets. **Skills** · Conversant with International standards for field Installation and commissioning.· Conversant with P&IDs, Hazardous area classification, trouble shooting, cable specifications, intrinsic safety concepts, control systems (DCS), transmitters, valve positioner calibration and instrumentation concepts.· Strong Leadership Skills.· Knowledge of IT basics and Microsoft Applications.· Management of sub-ordinates and manpower control.Yokogawa is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
