Job Overview:
The Senior Expeditor applies best practices and knowledge of internal and external issues to enhance the expediting discipline within McDermott. They serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues, sharing expertise related to expediting. The Senior Expeditor addresses complex problems using discipline-specific knowledge to improve products or services. They influence a range of customer, operational, project, and service activities with the expediting team and other related teams, ensuring compliance with guidelines and policies.
This position is for SPIR & CMMS, requiring experienced material cataloguing engineers with a strong background in SPIR review, master data management in ERP and other systems including CMMS, asset registration, and seamless procurement processes. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and external parties to expedite, review, maintain accurate SPIR records, and ensure timely closeout.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline, or HSD/GED/IGCSE with 6 years of relevant experience
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience expediting supplier documentation, instrumentation (control valves, MOVs), major equipment (vessels, pumps), and bulks
- Experience with structural steel fabrication and pipe fabrication is a plus
- Knowledge of expediting processes related to procurement
- Effective communication skills with procurement and non-procurement personnel
- Ability to work well with others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Knowledge of Materials Management systems for procurement and logistics
- Understanding of the material management lifecycle
- Active problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex packages with interdependencies

Responsibilities:
- Supervise team to identify supplier performance gaps and potential delivery delays
- Implement expediting strategies to track project materials and deliverables
- Determine appropriate expediting frequency based on purchase order levels
- Liaise with Logistics and Package Management teams for timely project goods and materials updates
- Support supplier performance review processes
- Recognize when Management of Change (MOC) is necessary
- Participate in developing new expediting tools as assigned
- Communicate effectively with procurement, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Review purchase order requirements to ensure quality and project compliance
- Understand expediting levels and workload to optimize deliveries
- Maintain timely updates in company systems and distribute reports to stakeholders
- Ensure supplier delivery aligns with project schedules
- Work with procurement to address performance gaps and delays
- Coordinate expediting issues across departments and teams
- Collaborate with Logistics on material movements
- Focus on end-product quality across procurement, engineering, fabrication, and construction
- Resolve expediting issues actively
- Drive accurate project status reporting and weekly updates
- Ensure effective communication among all parties
- Follow established expediting procedures and understand contract details
- Perform other supply chain management tasks as assigned
