Job summary

NAFFCO in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Estimation Engineer for Fire Fighting Systems to lead estimation and tendering efforts. You will interpret drawings, prepare detailed estimates for fire detection, suppression and sprinkler systems, and coordinate with clients and suppliers to secure competitive bids.

The role requires expertise in NFPA UAE Fire Code, strong analytical capabilities, and proficiency in AutoCAD and estimation software.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills for quantity take-offs, cost analysis and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in MS Office AutoCAD and estimation software relevant to fire fighting systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams suppliers and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders, prioritise competing deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and prepare detailed estimation for fire fighting system projects including fire detection, suppression and sprinkler systems.
• Interpret project specifications, drawings and BOQ to determine scope and identify materials, manpower and equipment requirements.
• Conduct site visits, attend pre-tender meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers to gather data for tenders.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure system compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Prepare technical proposals that meet project specifications and company guidelines.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate terms and ensure cost competitiveness.
• Participate in value engineering to optimise solutions and reduce project costs without compromising quality or safety.
• Support project teams with estimation data clarifications and handover documentation.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills ensuring accurate and competitive project proposals that support business growth and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Fire Fighting System Estimation & Tendering

• Lead and prepare detailed estimation for fire fighting system projects including fire detection suppression and sprinkler systems.
• Interpret project specifications drawings and bill of quantities (BOQ) to determine scope and identify materials manpower and equipment requirements.
• Conduct site visits attend pre-tender meetings and liaise with clients consultants and suppliers to gather all relevant data for preparing accurate tenders.

Qualifications & Experience Fire Protection Estimation

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering ( B.E) Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline.
• 35 years of experience in fire protection system estimation designing or tendering in UAE.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire fighting systems including fire detection suppression and sprinkler systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook); experience with estimation software is an advantage.
• Proven track record in preparing accurate cost estimates technical proposals and value engineering solutions for fire fighting projects.
• Knowledge of local and international fire protection regulations and standards (e.g. NFPA UAE Fire Code).
• Ability to manage multiple projects meet deadlines and collaborate effective with internal teams clients and suppliers.
