Job summary

Stantec in Dubai is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental compliance during construction and provide technical support.

You will review plans, monitor impacts, conduct audits, manage permits, and advise the supervision team on mitigation strategies to ensure regulatory adherence. UAE/GCC familiarity preferred; Chartered Engineer welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant environmental engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/Dubai environmental regulations and international standards.
• Experience in construction environmental management, permitting, and authority coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review environmental management plans, method statements, risk assessments and contractor environmental submissions.
• Review design changes and submissions for environmental compliance.
• Monitor construction impacts relating to dust, noise, vibration, waste, wastewater, groundwater and soil contamination.
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits and monitor corrective actions.
• Review environmental monitoring results and compliance reports.
• Coordinate environmental permits, approvals and reporting with authorities.
• Provide technical advice to the supervision team on environmental risks and mitigation measures.
• Monitor environmental incidents and non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain environmental compliance, monitoring and incident records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant environmental engineering experience.
  Relevant experience on infrastructure, sewerage, drainage, water, or wastewater projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/Dubai environmental regulations and applicable international standards.
• Experience in construction environmental management, monitoring, permitting, and authority coordination.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
