Job summary

Aldar Properties PJSC in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Environmental Engineer to implement and enhance the Environmental Management System across construction projects. The role requires ensuring compliance with UAE environmental legislation and standards while monitoring contractors. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 5 years experience in Environmental Engineering and knowledge of UAE environmental regulations. Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Environmental Engineering.
• Experience with large developers, construction firms, PMCs, consultants, contractors, or government entities.
• UAE / GCC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Ensure compliance with UAE environmental laws, EAD requirements, Estidama, and ISO 14001 standards.
• Monitor PMCs, consultants, and contractors for compliance.
• Coordinate and follow up on obtaining environmental permits.
• Conduct regular site inspections and internal/external environmental audits.
• Ensure environmental monitoring and compliance checks.
• Promote environmental awareness through initiatives.

Skills

Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC environmental regulations

Contractor environmental assessment and compliance monitoring

Audit, inspection, and reporting expertise

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong communication skills in English and Arabic

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline

Environmental Diploma (preferred)

ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification
