Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Provide technical expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and shutdowns of rotating equipment to ensure high availability, reliability, and integrity of plant production.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Maintenance Planning, Execution, and Expertise
2. Supervise installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification activities of rotating equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
3. Review preventive maintenance plans/schedules and prepare task lists and maintenance programs for rotating equipment, overseeing their execution.
4. Provide guidance on resolving chronic problems, and review requirements for major repairs and spares to ensure compliance with international standards.
5. Participate in risk assessments, and prepare recommendations for mitigations and controls.
6. Ensure spare parts availability, coordinate new material orders, and manage spare parts inventory, including proposing stock levels and controlling inventory.
7. Develop new maintenance procedures, method statements, and schedule long-term activities aligned with plant shutdowns.
8. Coordinate with other departments to optimize manpower utilization and plan major/minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
9. Support the development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects, ensuring design and standards compliance.
10. Prepare plant change requests, study proposed changes, and develop implementation plans.
11. Participate in HAZOP reviews and SIL validation meetings.
12. Conduct studies on frequent failures of major rotating equipment and provide recommendations.
13. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents related to rotating equipment and provide findings and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering and maintenance of rotating equipment, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Extensive experience in design, engineering, construction, maintenance, and operation of rotating equipment in the oil and gas sector.
• Familiarity with international design codes and standards, with the ability to prepare specifications for design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and hand-over.
• Knowledge of major rotating equipment manufacturers' capabilities and shortcomings, with experience in negotiations.
• Understanding of HSE procedures and practices.
• Skills in planning, organizing, scheduling, coordinating, checking, and record-keeping.
