Senior Engineer, Reliability (Electrical)

JOB PURPOSE

The jobholder is responsible to provide engineering expertise in leading the Electrical Reliability for Borouge Assets, Plants, Electrical network, and Equipment in line with international engineering standards and best practices to enhance operations’ operability, productivity, quality, and capacity. This key role includes developing or updating maintenance strategies, leading or participating in high severity incidents and equipment failures, Asset Criticality Analysis, proactive risk management, performing Reliability Centred Maintenance, End of life management, and Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) study of the Electrical system.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance Strategies

1. Create/update P3M maintenance strategies, performance standards and ensure implementation to enhance the Reliability, Availability & Maintainability of the electrical equipment.
2. Standardization of Preventive/Predictive/Proactive maintenance plans and best practices for all common electrical activities including maintenance procedures across the site.
3. Create/review work instruction/checklist/forms along with Maintenance Engineers.
4. Assist in the development of a comprehensive Maintenance Management System for all machinery and equipment.

Reliability Improvement

1. Lead or participate in developing strategic plans and perform reliability studies for overall reliability improvement of electrical network and equipment.
2. Perform Root Cause Analysis of high severity incidents and equipment failures to maintain the highest standards in equipment reliability and safety.
3. Identify and proactively manage reliability risks using reliability methodologies and tools.
4. Lead or participate in the identification and elimination of primary and secondary bad actors.
5. Perform Asset criticality analysis (ACA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Maintenance strategies Optimization.
6. Track and implement Electrical reliability recommendations to ensure proper deployment of targeted improvements.
7. Participate in developing engineering and technical solutions to improve reliability performance of systems and equipment.

Technical Support

1. Provide technical support/subject matter expert advice to operation, maintenance, and engineering departments to improve reliability performance of electrical systems/equipment.
2. Initiate or perform Subject Matter Technical Evaluation of MOCs along with other discipline Engineers for continuous improvement of reliability, safety, plant operations, and cost optimization.
3. Perform or provide technical support on major troubleshooting and design review on equipment failures to identify corrective actions, modifications, or repairs required.

Equipment Management

1. Proactive management of end of life and Obsolescence of electrical equipment.
2. Manage condition assessment or remaining Life assessment of electrical equipment to extend the lifetime or economic replacement/upgrade of the equipment.
3. Coordination for establishing contracts which are common to the whole site or applicable to multiple plants.
4. Engineering support and Quality management of reliability improvement, end of life and turnaround electrical projects.

HSE Excellence & Compliance

1. Identify statutory requirements as per government regulation, ADNOC standards, OEM, Suppliers, and international standards to produce procedures, work instructions, and checklists for various activities and requirements.
2. Propose improvements in business processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve safety standards of the plant.
3. Keep abreast and knowledgeable on updates for Health, Safety, Environment, Crisis Management, and Risk Registers for all performed processes, projects, and activities within the operating zone.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of 8 years of total experience in maintenance of Petrochemical, Oil and Gas industry with 4 years working as Senior Engineer in Reliability & troubleshooting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as Reliability Engineer (Instrumentation /Control Engineer).
• Working experience in maintenance needs, processes, strategies for equipment and systems in petrochemical industry & Oil-gas industry.
• Working knowledge on HSE policies applicable in chemical & petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge and understanding of planning tools, techniques, philosophy, and processes existing in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
• Preferred to be certified in CMRP, CRE etc.
