Job description

Direct, supervise, and coordinate all activities of engineers within the functional discipline of Process Engineering. Provide technical advice to operations on all relevant process engineering aspects. Design the integrity and timeliness of work for technical studies.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

• Prepare progress and performance analysis reports, highlight problematic areas, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with set policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Achieve and maintain ISO certification for the Process section.
• Review all engineering deliverables prepared by EPC contractors concerning process and controls.
• Review systems and equipment design to ensure ease and safety of operations.
• Provide on-site process engineering consultation during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages.
• Act as Technical Authority for process discipline engineering within the company. Mediate in technical disputes.
• Provide process engineering expertise for developing and approving key project documents to ensure consistency and efficacy.
• Support and review process engineering standards, codes, and technical specifications to align with legislation, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Identify and recommend new technical innovations and enhancements to improve business delivery.
• Ensure process engineering support for HSE-driven studies and workshops.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities in the assigned area to meet objectives.
• Train and develop staff to achieve proficiency and deliver objectives.

Budgets

• Contribute to preparing and implementing budgets.
• Monitor variances and support performance and cost control.

Performance Management

• Contribute to achieving performance objectives aligned with company frameworks.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Implement new tools and techniques to improve operational quality and efficiency.
• Identify process improvements based on industry best practices.

HSE & Sustainability

• Comply with HSE policies, procedures, legislation, and sustainability guidelines.

Reports

• Assist in preparing section MIS and progress reports for management.

Internal & External Relationships

Maintain contact with internal colleagues and external parties such as consultants, service providers, and government agencies.

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; 8 years of experience. Certifications as applicable. Physical effort minimal; work environment includes office and occasional site visits.
