We are looking for a Senior Engineer Planning & Scheduling to join a leading power and utilities operation supporting complex maintenance planning across power and desalination plants.

What You ll Be Doing:- Develop and manage annual and monthly preventive maintenance schedules across power and desalination plants, prioritizing reliability and efficiency.
- Allocate resources, tools, and materials effectively to ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Optimize labor utilization, reducing overtime costs while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate asset records and history in CMMS (SAP), ensuring real-time updates for informed decision-making.
- Monitor work order processes to ensure timely cost booking and maintain high closure rates.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, material planners, and contractors to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.
- Implement industry best practices for reliability and maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and increase equipment lifespan.
- Lead troubleshooting and fault analysis for chronic equipment failures, minimizing recurring issues and downtime.
- Manage comprehensive records of equipment performance, maintenance history, and overhaul reports to support performance analysis and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with design and engineering partners to drive improvements in equipment lifespan and efficiency.
Key Projects You ll Contribute To:- Outage Optimization: Reduced desalination unit outage period significantly by prioritizing critical equipment and integrating condition-based maintenance techniques.
- Cooling System Modification: Enhanced pump reliability by modifying the bearing cooling system, improving performance during peak conditions.
- Sea Water Screening System Improvement: Increased system availability by implementing condition-based cleaning mechanisms.
- Desalination Unit Life Extension: Extended the lifespan of critical assets through comprehensive maintenance strategies.
Financial & Performance Responsibilities:- Contribute to OPEX and CAPEX estimation and monitoring, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives, including reverse engineering of spare parts to reduce dependency on OEMs.
- Focus on predictive maintenance to reduce corrective actions and optimize resource allocation.
Requirements: To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- Extensive experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within power or utilities sectors (preferably power and desalination plants).
- Proficiency with CMMS systems, especially SAP, for asset and maintenance management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience implementing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and condition-based maintenance (CBM) strategies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and internal stakeholders with excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and performance management within an engineering environment.
