Job description

JOB PURPOSE :

The scope of Master Plan Team is to establish an integrated subsurface and surface development frame, with planning and design guidelines for future activities in the Asset, to be used as a reference for the future projects.

Within this team, the scope and purpose of the Senior Engineer Master Plan (Subsurface) is to :

  • Develop and specify clustering strategy options that are consistent with the overall ADCO development plan.
  • Analyse clustering strategy options particularly in relation to associated costs, drilling complexity, rig specifications, logistics and safety constraints (including SIMOPS).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Job Specific Accountabilities

Accountability 1

  • Submit the Wells / Clustering allocation following all concerned parties' requirements.
  • Focus on ongoing developments incompatibilities to propose specific temporary solutions, in coordination with projects team, reservoir and drilling engineers.
  • Define MP scope of work for wells clustering and collect, compile, and validate all necessary data pertaining to wells and clustering, particularly reservoir and project data needed to build MP reference case.
  • Define the objectives and the scope of wells / clustering studies to be implemented and the level of these studies (pre-conceptual, conceptual, etc.).
  • Monitor and follow up on the implementation of all specified and Ad Hoc wells / clustering studies by other ADNOC Onshore division / department or by external assistance.
  • Participate, when necessary, within the limits of wells and clustering scope, to overall coordination with all involved parties in Oil and Gas production and impacting (or potentially impacted by) Developments.
  • Identify issues at interfaces between field networks and treatment facilities, and participate in alignment and optimization between all subjects (for instance, clustering concept impact on pipelines networks, profiles, and treatment facilities).
  • Implement the necessary safety studies to design clusters layout and identify possible location of future cluster.
  • Determine the timeline based on asset requirements for clustering upgrades (for instance virtual pads, to wellbays and minipads) and identify desktop survey early works requirements to allow construction of the clustering entity.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
  • Perform any other related duties as and when required at the company's discretion.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support execution of the Department / Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
  • Custodian of Asset and Gas Well Allocation Package.
  • Provide inputs to MP Guidelines and Reference Plans.
  • Provide inputs to Assets Business Plan.
  • Provide inputs to field network requirements.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :

Internal

  • Regular contact with ADNOC Onshore focal points, with Development, Operations, Engineering, Drilling, Project teams, Technical Centre etc.
  • Contact with Management (Manager, SVP etc. as required) on subjects / clarifications related to Master Plan as and when required.

External

  • Occasional contact with technical experts from third parties, as and when required.
  • Frequent contact with other ADNOC entities (ADNOC Gas Processing, ADNOC Sour Gas etc.) in relation to integration of their development plans with concessions.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in the oil and gas discipline.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 years of experience in drilling, completion and well design, of which 5 years of experience in conceptual studies and overall field configuration development.
  • Strong experience in field drilling, completion and workover operations.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding in surface facilities of oil & gas production, particularly related safety aspects.
