Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - ICT/ELV to join our Construction Supervision team in the UAE. You will oversee installation, testing and handover of ICT, ELV and security systems on major construction projects, ensuring compliance with designs, specs and international standards.

Responsibilities include review of drawings and submittals, ITPs, method statements, site inspections, witness testing and coordinating with contractors and client reps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, electrical, electronics or related field.
• 13+ years in ICT/ELV engineering with 7+ years in supervision/PMC/consultancy.
• Strong experience reviewing ICT, ELV and security system designs, shop drawings, submittals, ITPs, and method statements.
• Experience on major building, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, infrastructure or data centre projects.
• Familiarity with international standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEC, NFPA and local authority requirements.
• GCC experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, material submittals, and design documentation for ICT, security and ELV systems.
• Review and provide comments on contractor method statements for structured cabling and fibre optic works.
• Review ITPs, checklists, testing procedures, and quality documentation.
• Monitor site activities to ensure works follow drawings, specs, and standards.
• Conduct site inspections and witness testing/commissioning for CCTV, access control, intrusions, PA, intercom, and telecom systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, design teams and client reps to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Review RFIs and NCRs, providing timely recommendations and resolutions.
• Verify installed systems comply with project specifications and authority requirements.
• Monitor quality, safety, and progress of ICT/ELV works and report to leadership.
• Support project closeout: testing records, as-builts, O&M manuals, handover docs.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning and handover of ICT/ELV & security systems.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - ICT / Security Systems to join our Construction Supervision team. The successful candidate will oversee the installation and delivery of ICT, ELV and Security Systems on major construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.

• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, material submittals, and design documentation related to ICT, security and ELV systems.

• Review and provide technical comments on contractor method statements, particularly for structured cabling and fibre optic installation works.

• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, testing procedures, and quality documentation.

• Monitor site activities to ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant international standards.

• Conduct site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities for systems including:

• Structured Cabling Systems

• Fibre Optic Networks

• CCTV and Video Surveillance Systems

• Access Control Systems

• Intrusion Detection Systems

• Public Address Systems

• Intercom Systems

• Network and Telecommunications Infrastructure

• Integrated Security Systems

• Coordinate with contractors, specialist vendors, design teams, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.

• Review RFIs, NCRs, and technical queries, providing timely recommendations and resolutions.

• Verify that installed systems comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and applicable industry standards.

• Monitor quality, safety, and progress of ICT/ELV works and provide regular reports to project leadership.

• Support project closeout activities, including review of testing records, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation.

• Supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of ICT, ELV, and Security Systems on construction projects.

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 13 years of experience in ICT/ELV engineering, with at least 7 years in construction supervision or PMC/consultancy environments.

• Strong experience in reviewing ICT, ELV and Security System designs, shop drawings, submittals, ITPs, and method statements.

• Demonstrated experience on major building, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, infrastructure, or data centre projects.
