Qualifications

Key Responsibilities :
- Provides coaching and guidance to develop and enhance corrosion knowledge within the company.
- Leads the development and modification of internal engineering methods, tools, processes, and standards (such as RBI, Plan Corrosion Policy, Asset Integrity) related to corrosion inspection, monitoring, and management.
- Analyzes corrosion and process data to identify opportunities for operational optimization across process units or equipment, aiming to minimize corrosion failure risks.
- Leads and/or participates in incident investigations as a corrosion technical advisor.
- Utilizes advanced problem-solving tools and techniques, balancing multiple considerations (economic, operational, maintenance, technical) to resolve corrosion issues with business impact.
- Leads technical interactions with customers, suppliers, and joint venture partners to address corrosion problems, monitoring techniques, and management strategies.
- Possibly oversees more than one process unit within their area of expertise.
- Participates in evaluating and selecting engineering and construction partners.
- Collaborates with Purchasing to develop contracts, and conducts bid analysis and reviews for corrosion monitoring, software, and analysis projects.
- Applies and coaches best practices in project management systems, processes, and techniques from a corrosion perspective, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Supervises medium to large-sized corrosion projects.
- Contributes to the development of unit operating strategies considering corrosion risks and safety, including process modifications and advanced process control changes that could impact corrosion within the process unit.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- At least 10 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical Industries, including a minimum of 5 years in a field or operational environment.
- Minimum of 5 years' field experience with corrosion monitoring, material selection, and corrosion management systems.
- Strong knowledge of field corrosion monitoring techniques, methodologies, and corrosion prediction and modeling software.
- Required certifications include NACE Corrosion Technologist, NACE Coating Inspection Programme Level 1 (CIP 1), and NACE Cathodic Protection Tester certifications or equivalents from recognized corrosion societies.
