Job description

Senior Emergency Assessment And Planning Officer
  • Participate in Preparing the strategic and operational plan proposal for the management and developing the performance indicators for the work and work towards achieving it under the guidance of Emergency Assessment and Planning Manager
  • To participate in developing the necessary proposals to improve the work and submit them to senior management for approval and work under them
  • Implementing activities to enhance teamwork and team building and activate continuous learning to deliver the highest quality of work
  • Provide the necessary support to the Emergency assessment and Planning Manager and perform any other tasks assigned to him


RESPONSIBILITIES

General Roles

  • Participate in Preparing the strategic and operational plan proposal for the management and developing the performance indicators for the work and work towards achieving it under the guidance of Emergency Assessment and Planning Manager
  • To participate in developing the necessary proposals to improve the work and submit them to senior management for approval and work under them
  • Implementing activities to enhance teamwork and team building and activate continuous learning to deliver the highest quality of work
  • Provide the necessary support to the Emergency assessment and Planning Manager and perform any other tasks assigned to him


Emergency Preparedness & Response

  • Coordination and follow-up at local levels to prepare and respond to emergencies, crises and disasters of all kinds by :
  • providing a clear and effective mechanism for emergencies preparedness and response
  • Supervising the health operations required by emergencies, crises and disasters,
  • To supervise the coordination of the exercises of different SEHA Healthcare Facilities and evaluate their outcomes
  • Participate in deciding the specialized training courses for the technical and administrative staff accredited in the field of emergency management, crises and disasters
  • Preparation of memorandums of understanding concerning planning, preparedness and emergency response to emergencies, crises and disasters
  • Assess the readiness of SEHA Healthcare facilities to respond to disasters periodically
  • Supervising the implementation of the requirements of health plans for nuclear, radiological, chemical and biological hazards


Training

  • To participate in identifying the training needs of, and, where required, coordinating the necessary training for SEHA staff
  • To initiate and maintain database including staff details, training details and costs


Effective response to planned and unplanned emergencies and events

  • To engage coordinate activities related to events response such as but not limited to :
  • Events medical coverage as required
  • Events risk assessments
  • Participation in community response exercises related to


events

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification :

Required:

  • Proficiency in English and Arabic languages
  • A minimum of one years experience in an emergency planning role or similar
  • Excellent skills and competency in written and verbal communication
  • Team work competency
  • Basic computer skills


Required:

Specialist Certification :

  • Bachelor of Health Administration or equivalent in similar specialization
  • Or a master's degree in health management or equivalent in a similar discipline
  • Bachelor of medical sciences
