Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is seeking a Senior Emerging Markets Risk Manager to lead risk oversight across Latin America, Asia, and CEEMEA. You will work with global risk professionals, quants, and portfolio managers to monitor risk, calibrate guidelines, and analyze trade-level exposures.

You will collaborate with teams globally to address risk outside policy, perform VaR and stress testing, and contribute to strategic risk policy research within the Fixed Income & Macro franchise.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in trading, sales, structuring, quantitative analysis, or market risk roles.
• Deep knowledge of Emerging Markets across Latin America, Asia, and CEEMEA.
• Excellent collaboration across global offices and teams.
• Strong ability to present complex risk concepts to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with PM teams to analyze portfolio risk across EM regions.
• Calibrate and manage risk guidelines aligned with risk appetite and regulations.
• Collaborate with PMs to resolve risk discrepancies and align with policy.
• Conduct detailed trade-level risk analyses for positions and derivatives.
• Perform top-down risk assessments including VaR and stress testing.
• Present risk findings clearly to senior risk and management teams.
• Develop analyses and reports for risk team members and PMs.
• Contribute to research on risk policy and portfolio guidelines.
