Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer - Electrical in Abu Dhabi to lead overhead transmission line projects from initiation to closeout.

You will manage scope, schedules, budgets, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver successful EPC electrical works on site. The role requires extensive experience in transmission line design and construction, proficiency with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/AutoCAD, and a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with focus on overhead transmission lines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site technical lead for EPC electrical works, supervising contractors and daily OHL construction.
• Inspect and approve civil works per drawings, method statements, and ITPs.
• Review and approve civil/structural drawings, submittals, and geotechnical reports.
• Ensure strict HSE standards and UAE safety regulations on site.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and attend progress meetings.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports and maintain site documentation.
• Manage permits/NOCs and RFIs/NCRs; coordinate suppliers and vendors.
• Conduct site inspections, QA checks, and progress reviews; resolve construction challenges.
• Provide guidance to project teams and support client relations; mitigate risks.
