- JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all machinery, equipment, and facility systems within the furniture factory. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and support for continuous improvement initiatives across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING/ TECHNICAL SKILLS
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field).
- Solid knowledge of woodworking machinery and factory systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, engineering drawings, and machine schematics.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or manual maintenance logs.
- Good communication skills and team player.
Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or furniture production environment.
- Hands-on experience in diagnostics, repairs, welding, lubrication, and basic PLC troubleshooting.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on woodworking machinery (e.g., CNC, panel saws, edge banders, drills, sanders).
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain and monitor factory utilities (e.g., air compressors, dust extraction systems, lighting, HVAC if applicable).
- Keep maintenance logs, work orders, and checklists up to date.
- Recommend and oversee the installation or upgrade of machinery and technical systems.
- Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support implementation of safety systems such as lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), equipment guarding, and electrical safety.
- Train machine operators on basic maintenance and safe usage.
- Assist in layout planning and equipment relocation or setup.
- Provide technical input during machinery procurement or factory expansion.
