Role Overview
As a Senior Electrical Engineer and Team Lead, you'll spearhead cross-functional teams while also driving growth initiatives across the energy and automation domains. Your responsibilities will cover project execution, technical strategy, client relationship management, and business development — particularly with UAE-based government utilities and EPCs.
Key Responsibilities
️ Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and execution of SCADA, automation, and electrical system projects (LV/MV/HV).
- Oversee PLC/SCADA systems, protection & control panels, and instrumentation solutions.
- Ensure compliance with DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, IEC, and other relevant standards.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for technical projects.
Team & Project Management
- Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines.
- Coordinate across departments for smooth project execution, from design to commissioning.
- Conduct technical reviews and project risk assessments.
Business Development & Strategic Sales
- Identify new business opportunities within the utilities, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
- Build strong relationships with government entities, EPCs, and consultants.
- Develop and present tailored technical proposals and solutions.
- Lead bidding, pricing strategies, and client negotiations for large-scale contracts.
Market Strategy & Growth
- Champion go-to-market strategies for Industry 4.0/4.2 solutions, including smart grids, digital twins, and IIoT.
- Monitor market trends in renewable energy, digital automation, and grid modernization.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and forums.
Client & Partner Engagement
- Establish long-term partnerships with utilities (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, TRANSCO, SEC, etc.).
- Conduct workshops, technical demos, and strategic client meetings.
- Support pre-sales and solution development efforts.
Reporting & Leadership
- Generate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and market intelligence reports.
- Lead regional sales efforts across the GCC market.
- Align internal engineering and R&D capabilities with market demands.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems / Automation focus).
- 10+ years of experience in SCADA, protection systems, automation, and utilities in the UAE or Gulf region.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory bodies and standards (DEWA, ADDC, IEC).
- Proven track record in technical leadership, sales, and business development.
- Strong exposure to platforms like Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Honeywell, etc.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- UAE driving license (preferred).
Desirable
- PMP certification or MBA.
- Strong network across UAE utilities and industrial clients.
- Experience in smart grid or digital transformation initiatives.
