Job Description

The DEWA-approved GIS Witness Engineer shall report to the Project Manager and should be familiar with:

• EHV Substations with a voltage level of 220/132 kV.
• Testing and commissioning of complete Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) of various makes such as Siemens, ALSTOM, Hitachi / ABB, Toshiba, JAEP, and others.
• Testing and commissioning of Current Transformers and Voltage Transformers.
• Schemes and component checks related to 220/132kV GIS systems.
• Functional checks.
• Relevant international standards on testing and commissioning activities.
• New technologies to identify potential applications.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in testing and commissioning, with a recognized career path.
• Extensive experience in testing and commissioning processes.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong technical report-writing skills, and proficient in MS Office, Primavera, and related applications.
• Experience working within an ISO quality environment.
• Good knowledge of applicable design standards and codes from a European power design environment (IEC, IEEE, ISO, BS).
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility, both individually and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
