Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, review, and supervision of LV and MV electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, earthing, UPS, generators, and ELV systems (CCTV, fire alarm, PA, BMS, etc.).
- Coordinate electrical layouts and load requirements with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with international and local electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, DEWA/ADDC regulations, etc.).
- Design and validate lighting systems for public areas, retail units, food courts, cinemas, and parking zones, including emergency lighting and wayfinding.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection/testing procedures.
- Supervise on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure alignment with approved drawings and specifications.
- Manage power coordination with utility authorities and ensure timely approvals for load schedules, single-line diagrams, and metering schemes.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and assist in resolving technical issues related to power distribution, panel boards, cable routing, etc.
- Ensure integration of tenant electrical requirements within the mall’s main electrical infrastructure.
- Prepare load calculations, voltage drop analysis, short circuit studies, and cable sizing reports.
- Ensure quality assurance across all electrical engineering deliverables and compliance with project timelines and budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years working on mega shopping malls or large commercial projects.
- Proficient in electrical design software such as ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Excel-based load calculations.
- Strong knowledge of local authority regulations and approval procedures (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense).
- Hands-on experience in supervising electrical installation and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Membership in IEEE or equivalent engineering bodies.
- Certified PMP, LEED AP, or Estidama PQP is an added advantage.
- Licensed/Registered Electrical Engineer (preferred but not mandatory).
