Job summary

MPH is seeking a Chartered Electrical engineer with 15+ years in Electrical and I&C for water and wastewater plants. You will lead basic and detailed design, review documents, and prepare drawings and specifications for MV/LV systems, substations, and protection schemes.

You will perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash studies (ETAP), ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/ISA/NEC/ATEX, and coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process teams while maintaining strong English communication with

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer or SOE certified; equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years in Electrical & I&C with water/wastewater experience.
• Engineering consultancy experience.
• Excellent English and client-facing abilities.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/ISA/NEC/ATEX standards.
• Knowledge of regional utility standards (UAE wires & Saudi region).
• MV/LV Substation Design.
• Ability to read schematic wiring diagrams of electrical/control panels.
• Familiarity with MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, VFD panels, transformers, generators, UPS, DC systems.
• Load Flow & Short Circuit analysis, Arc Flash with ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Basic & Detailed Design Engineering, review and preparation of documents and drawings.
• Prepare SLDs, load lists, and sizing calculations for transformers, generators, APFC, cables, UPS, DC systems, etc.
• Prepare electrical equipment GAs, cables routing, earthing & lighting layouts, and BoQs.
• Specify and review equipment datasheets and vendor data for generators, transformers, motors, switchgears, VFDs, capacitors, bus ducts, cables, UPS, etc.
• Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Process, HVAC and other packaged equipment teams.

Basic & Detailed Design Engineering, Review and Preparation of the following documents and drawings:

A- ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

• Electrical Design Basis Report.
• SLD for MV/LV distribution systems.
• Plant Electrical Load Lists.
• Sizing Calculations for Transformer, Generator, APFC, Cables, UPS, DC System, Etc.
• Electrical Equipment GAs.
• Load Flow and Short Circuit Calculation (ETAP).
• Earthing & Lightning Calculation
• Lighting and small power design.
• Specification, Datasheet, Vendor Data Review of Generators, Transformers, Motor, MV/LV Switch Gears, VFD/SS Panels, Capacitor & Reactors, Bus Ducts, Cables, AC & DC UPS etc.
• Electrical Layout Drawings, Cable routing Drawing, Earthing &Lightning Layout, Lighting Layout.
• BoQs for Electrical Equipment.
• Specifications for Electrical Equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Chartered Engineer, SOE certified, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Electrical and I&C with relevant experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Pumping stations is a must.
• Must have engineering consultancy experience.
• Excellent communication in English and client-facing skills.
• Knowledge of International codes and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ISA, NEC, ATEX)
• Knowledge of Standards and Specification of major clients in utility section in Saudi, UAE, Oman, Qatar region.
• MV/LV Substation Design.
• Knowledge on how to read schematic wiring of various electrical and control panels.
• Knowledge of MV/LV Switchgears, MCCs, MV and LV VFD panels, Transformers, Generators, UPS, DC System, etc.
• Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis, Motor Starting Study, Arc Flash and Protection coordination study using ETAP software.
• Instruments, Analyzers, Sensors working principle and its selection as per measurement medium, working condition and Hazardous zone classifications.
• Process Control & Safety Systems (DCS, PLC, ESD and F&G)
• Safety and Security systems like CCTV, Access Control System, Intrusion Protection System, PAGA and Telecomm Systems, Public WIFI.
• Vibration and Condition Monitoring Systems
• Ethernet, Field Bus, Profibus, MODBUS, IEC61850, DNP3 segments, IOT systems, ICT networks / Fiber Optics Networks, Power Line Communication and Wireless communication
• Substation Automation system and interface to various switchgears, control panels etc. and Energy Management system
• Knowledge of HAZOP and CHAZOP review and SIL calculation Study.
• Interface skills in departments like Civil, Mechanical, Process, HVAC etc. and other Packaged Equipment.
