Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage all electrical engineering activities for an Oil Train Project. The role involves detailed engineering, procurement support, and field technical assistance for oil & gas facilities including crude oil separation, stabilization, and export systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, review, and approval of electrical engineering deliverables including SLDs, cable schedules, load lists, power system studies, and equipment datasheets.
- Provide expertise in the selection and specification of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and generators.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API) and Iraqi local standards.
- Conduct power system studies (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash) using tools like ETAP or SKM.
- Supervise and coordinate electrical design interfaces with instrumentation, mechanical, and civil teams.
- Prepare technical evaluations and support vendor/subcontractor technical clarifications.
- Review and approve lighting, grounding, and earthing systems for hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
- Provide field support during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
- Participate in FATs, SATs, and support site acceptance and energization activities.
- Liaise with client representatives, particularly Basra Oil Company (BOC) or other Iraqi operators, ensuring technical alignment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas projects, with significant exposure to Oil Train or EPF/CPF projects.
- Strong experience with Iraq-based projects is highly preferred.
- Proficient in engineering software such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification and electrical design in explosive environments (Ex zones).
- Thorough understanding of power distribution systems, emergency power systems, and electrical safety standards.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
