Job summary

Duncan & Ross in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Electrical Designer to lead design of electrical power systems for large industrial projects. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and NEC standards while delivering safe, reliable solutions.

The role requires extensive FEED and Detailed Design experience, proficiency with SPEL and power system studies, and mentoring of junior engineers through project execution and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Master's degree is an advantage.
• 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or oil & gas projects.
• At least 5 years in a Senior Electrical Engineer or equivalent role.
• Strong FEED and Detailed Design experience.
• Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution in industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC and project specs.
• Proficient with SPEL, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for industrial projects.
• Prepare and review design deliverables including SLDs, cable layouts, and equipment specs.
• Develop and manage SPEL databases and ensure data consistency.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and project specs.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, and HSE teams for integration.
• Review contractor and vendor documents.
• Support client discussions and participate in design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and engineers' teams.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
