Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Design Team Lead (Electrical) to provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and delivery oversight for electrical design across multidisciplinary projects in the United Arab Emirates.

You will mentor design teams, coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects and digital delivery teams, review calculations and drawings, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and HDR quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive electrical design experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, lighting design, and construction methodologies.
• Experience leading complex building, industrial, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency with BIM platforms and industry-standard electrical design software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical design teams across multiple projects, providing technical direction and performance oversight.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, digital delivery teams, and discipline leaders to align scope and deliverables.
• Direct planning, execution, and delivery of electrical design packages, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Review calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction documentation for accuracy and compliance with codes.
• Mentor junior engineers, foster technical growth, and promote HDR best practices.
