Job summary

HDR in the United Arab Emirates—Dubai is seeking a Senior Design Team Lead (Electrical). You will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for the electrical design group across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring quality, innovation, and on-time delivery.

You will guide BIM workflows, coordinate with project teams, review calculations and drawings, and mentor engineers while upholding HDR standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive electrical design experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, lighting design, and codes.
• Experience leading electrical design for complex building, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard electrical design software and BIM platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical design teams across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other discipline leaders.
• Direct planning, execution, and delivery of electrical design packages within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Oversee design of power distribution, lighting, grounding, LV systems, and other electrical infrastructure.
• Review calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and construction docs for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination and resolve technical conflicts.
• Guide BIM integration and digital delivery workflows within electrical design.
• Support project pursuits with technical input and client presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure HDR quality standards.
