Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UAE is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems. The successful candidate will manage large-scale building projects while ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations. Candidates should possess significant experience in electrical design, leadership skills, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software is crucial.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
• Proven experience with large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
• UAE Society of Engineers membership and ADDC/ADDC approvals are advantageous.

Job description

Lead and oversee the design of electrical systems including LV, MV, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and ELV systems.

Prepare and review detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and load calculations.

Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems.

Ensure designs comply with DEWA, ADDC, Estidama, and relevant UAE authority regulations.

Perform value engineering and propose innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and respond to RFIs during construction.

Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff.

Attend client and consultant meetings, and support project management teams as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.

Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the UAE or GCC.

Proven experience with large-scale building and infrastructure projects.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, ETAP, and MS Office.

Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (IEC, NEC, BS).

Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.

UAE Society of Engineers membership and ADDC/ADDC approvals are advantageous.
