Job summary

Sharjah Art Foundation seeks a senior editor to write, copy-edit, fact-check and proofread texts in line with SAF style. The role covers curatorial texts, exhibition booklets, biographies and website content, ensuring coherence and audience-appropriate language.

The candidate should hold a BA or MA in art or English with at least ten years of experience and native-level British English. This full-time position in Sharjah runs 9:00–17:00, Monday to Thursday, with occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in art, English or related field.
• At least ten years of experience in editing or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of British English syntax, vocabulary, punctuation and spelling.

Responsibilities

• Write, copy-edit, fact-check and proofread texts according to SAF style.
• Offer suggestions for substantive editing and improve coherence of content for target audiences.
• Conduct research and rewrite texts as needed.
• Edit curatorial texts, exhibition booklets, biographies, captions and website content.
• Liaise with artists, curators and SAF team members and manage editorial projects.
