The Senior Social Media Coordinator leads the strategic development, creative direction and performance of Sharjah Art Foundation’s social media presence across platforms.
The role is responsible for defining channel strategy, shaping campaign narratives, strengthening audience engagement and ensuring that social media functions as a key storytelling and communications channel for exhibitions, programmes and institutional initiatives.

Working closely with the Content Coordinator and wider Communications team, the position provides editorial oversight, creative leadership and approvals, while guiding publishing workflows and campaign execution.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of annual and seasonal social media strategies aligned with Communications and Marketing objectives.
  • Define channel goals, KPIs and growth targets across Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to expand reach, deepen engagement and build new audiences.
  • Translate institutional priorities into clear and compelling digital strategies.
  • Provide strategic direction and priorities for the social media content calendar developed and maintained by the Content Coordinator.
  • Work with the Content Coordinator on day‑to‑day execution and content implementation.
Content Direction
  • Provide direction, messaging frameworks and tone‑of‑voice guidance across all social platforms.
  • Lead campaign storytelling for major exhibitions, programmes, performances, residencies and institutional initiatives.
  • Translate curatorial and institutional content into engaging digital narratives tailored to each platform and audience.
  • Propose thematic series, recurring formats and innovative content approaches to strengthen the Foundation’s distinctive social voice.
  • Guide creative approaches for reels, carousels, motion graphics and platform‑native formats in collaboration with the Content Coordinator and Design team.
  • Review and approve copy, visuals and assets before publishing.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity and brand alignment across all social content.
Publishing & Execution Oversight
  • Oversee publishing workflows and standards across platforms, ensuring alignment, accuracy and quality control.
  • Publish priority, time‑sensitive or live content as required, including event coverage, announcements and campaign launches.
  • Support scheduling and posting during high‑volume periods or key institutional moments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of approved content.
  • Coordinate with curators and internal stakeholders to translate complex artistic content into accessible digital formats.
  • Liaise with external partners and collaborators for joint campaigns.
Campaign Management
  • Plan and manage multi‑platform campaigns for launches, openings and key institutional moments.
  • Develop paid media briefs and oversee boosting strategies where relevant.
  • Ensure strong and timely coverage of live events and announcements.
Performance & Reporting
  • Track analytics and prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimise content and strategy.
  • Benchmark performance against regional and international arts institutions.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen engagement and growth.
Community & Reputation Management
  • Oversee audience engagement and community management.
  • Ensure appropriate tone and timely responses to public interactions.
  • Monitor trends and conversations relevant to the Foundation.
  • Safeguard the Foundation’s digital reputation.
Required Experience, Qualifications and Skills
  • 5–7+ years of experience in social media, digital communications or cultural marketing.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing social media strategies and multi‑platform campaigns.
  • Strong editorial judgement and storytelling skills, with excellent writing and copy‑editing ability in English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrated experience developing creative concepts and campaign narratives for digital platforms.
  • Experience leading content approvals and cross‑functional workflows.
  • Strong understanding of platform best practices, trends and audience behaviours.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
  • Familiarity with analytics and publishing tools (Meta Business Suite, Sprout, Hootsuite or similar).
  • Experience in arts, culture, museums or non‑profit organisations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Conditions of Work

The role is a full‑time position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
