Job summary

Bureau Veritas do Brasil in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior E&I Inspector to oversee construction and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems up to 33 kV.

The role requires 15+ years in Oil & Gas, strong liaison with EPCs, and hands-on verification of DCS, ESD, Fire & Gas, and power distribution work. Proficient English writing reports is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years in Oil & Gas as inspector for power distribution and control systems.
• Liaising with EPC Contractors, manufacturers and client reps during FAT/SAT.
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems in DCS, ESD, fire/gas.
• Good knowledge of ISO and international standards.
• Strong written and spoken English; able to write technical reports.
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction and commissioning of 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V power distribution systems.
• Inspect switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS, earthing and lighting.
• Review EPC/Vendor design documents for instrumentation and control systems in DCS.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and liaison with clients, EPCs and vendors.

Senior E&I Inspector:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries as an inspector in the construction of new and Brownfield modifications to existing 33 KV,11kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V electric power distribution systems, switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS, earthing & lighting, underground cabling, cathodic protection, lighting and small power distribution systems.
• Proved experience in liaising with EPC Contractors, Manufacturers and Client representatives during the FAT and SAT of electric equipment and instrumentation equipment.
• Must be experienced in interpreting and applying EPC Contractor and Vendor design documentation in the construction, testing and commissioning of all instrumentation and control systems in DCS including modifications to the existing ESD, Fire and Gas systems and control room architecture and provision of new package boiler instrumentation systems.
• Good knowledge of ISO and other International Standards.
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports.
• Computer literate and familiarity with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.
