Job summary

Tura Executive is assisting a well-established shipping owner/operator in recruiting a Senior Operations Manager to own the voyage lifecycle from planning through post-voyage settlement. This role sits at the intersection of Chartering, Legal, Technical and Control, acting as the senior escalation point when issues arise with masters, brokers, agents or customers.

Senior Operations Manager | Maritime / Dry Bulk | Atlantic Basin

I'm working with a well-established shipping owner/operator on a confidential search for a Senior Operations Manager to take ownership of their voyage lifecycle from planning through post-voyage settlement.

This isn't a back-office role. You'll sit at the intersection of Chartering, Legal, Technical and Control, acting as the senior escalation point when things get complicated with masters, brokers, agents or customers and you'll have real influence over commercial outcomes, not just operational execution.

What the role actually involves:

• Owning voyage strategy end-to-end, instructions, agency appointments, cost negotiation on port/agency fees
• Driving vessel performance analysis (speed, consumption, claims) into decisions that protect margin
• Senior oversight on freight/hire settlement, LOIs, and Charter Party compliance
• Leading claims resolution alongside Legal and insurers
• Mentoring and setting the bar for an existing Operations team

What they need from you:

• Genuine hands-on operational experience in the Atlantic Basin, this is non-negotiable given the trade lanes involved
• 5+ years deep in voyage documentation, compliance and chartering mechanics
• Someone equally comfortable negotiating with an agent and presenting to senior stakeholders
• A operator's mindset, proactive, commercially sharp, unfazed by a fast-moving desk

Based in the region, reporting into senior leadership, with genuine scope to shape how operations runs.
