Job summary
Erbil Manpower Company in Dubai seeks an experienced Drilling Engineer to lead detailed well planning for upcoming wells, develop trajectories, and conduct WELLPLAN-based hydraulics and ECD analyses.
The role requires 15+ years in drilling engineering and fluent English, with travel to Kurdistan as needed. The position supports onboarding an additional rig and coordinating with drilling contractors.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent relevant technical qualification.
- 15+ years of drilling engineering and drilling operations experience are required.
- Strong experience with well planning and preparation of drilling programmes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drilling programmes for upcoming wells using established field practices.
- Develop well trajectories and directional drilling plans using COMPASS.
- Perform drilling engineering calculations and modelling using WELLPLAN (hydraulics, ECD, torque and drag, hole cleaning).
- Develop casing, drilling fluids, cementing, BHA and directional drilling requirements with technical disciplines and service suppliers.
- Review offset-well performance, NPT, drilling problems and lessons learned for new plans.
- Prepare drilling time estimates and input to well cost estimates.
- Ensure operations are practical and within rig/service capabilities.
- Provide engineering support during drilling operations and during onboarding of an additional rig.
