Job summary

Stantec in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior draftsman to produce detailed civil drawings for water, sewerage, and drainage projects using MicroStation and AutoCAD. The role requires meticulous revision based on engineers' feedback and compliance with project standards.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in drafting, including 3–5 years in UAE, strong English communication, and familiarity with Dubai Municipality and local utility networks. UAE-based candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience as Draftsman, with 3–5 years minimum in the UAE.
• Strong proficiency in the latest versions of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
• Experience in preparing drawings for sewerage, drainage, stormwater, irrigation, pressurized network, and water infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards and existing utility/infrastructure networks is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret as-built drawings and utility records accurately.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Produce drawings for sewerage, stormwater, drainage, irrigation, and water infrastructure projects.
• Update and revise drawings based on engineers' comments and project requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings from site survey data and construction records.
• Review and interpret existing utility and infrastructure records.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and timely delivery.
• Maintain drawing standards and documentation in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other engineering software to support project documentation.
