Job description

We are seeking a talented and creative Senior Womenswear Designer to join our team. As a Womenswear Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing Womenswear collections that showcase our brand identity while meeting the needs and desires of our target market. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of Womenswear trends, and a passion for creating beautiful and functional Womenswear.

Core Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Design Manager on the entire Design process
• Design and develop Womenswear collections that align with our brand image, target audience, and market trends
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive analysis
• Create detailed design sketches and technical packs using computer-aided design (CAD) software, for monthly (hit-wise) option drops
• Collaborate with the Merchandising team to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity
• Participate in fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and comfort of the garments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design and development records, including specifications, measurements, and construction details.
• Build consistency throughout product lines to ensure a clear message is delivered while continuing to grow as an authentic, value fashion retailer
• Be actively involved in product and trend presentations
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with cross functional teams

Job Requirements

• A minimum of a BA Qualification in Fashion Design
• 5-7 years of proven professional experience in a similar role with strong technical knowledge and skills
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of Womenswear designs that demonstrate creativity, technical skills, and understanding of market trends
• Have a strong eye for trend spotting, colour, prints, fabrics and silhouettes
• In-depth knowledge of womenswear construction, fit, and materials
• Team player with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Strong communication and presentation skills (in English)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to sketch and render in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop. Knowledge of CLO 3D will be an added advantage, though not a mandatory requirement.
