Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting in Dubai seeks a Senior Designer - Civil & Structure to lead detailed civil and structural design for onshore oil & gas EPC projects during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases. You will produce GA drawings, 3D models in Smart 3D, reinforce concrete detailing, foundations, pipe racks, and steel structures, coordinating with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering.
• 8–12 years of Civil & Structural Designer experience in Oil & Gas EPC.
• FEED and Detailed Engineering experience on large onshore projects.
• Design and detailing for steel structures, reinforced concrete, foundations, pipe racks, buildings, substations, roads, drainage.
• Middle East oil & gas project experience mandatory.
• Greenfield and brownfield experience desirable.
• Software: AutoCAD, Smart 3D, MicroStation, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tekla, SmartSketch.
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASTM, ASCE, BS, Eurocodes; layout and underground services.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil/structural drawings and 3D models for onshore facilities.
• Prepare GA drawings, concrete/steel detailing, foundations, utilities, grading and drainage.
• Create and maintain 3D models using SP3D/S3D and generate 2D deliverables.
• Produce reinforcement detailing for concrete structures and equipment foundations.
• Prepare structural steel detailing for platforms, pipe racks, and miscellaneous steel.
• Coordinate with Civil & Structural Engineers to incorporate calculations into deliverables.
• Interface with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process and Architecture teams.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate data into project documents.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, procedures, and international codes.
• Participate in model/design/constructability reviews and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Generate material take-offs (MTOs) from drawings/models.
• Address design comments and support procurement, construction, commissioning.
• Maintain quality/consistency of deliverables throughout project execution.

About the job SENIOR DESIGNER - CIVIL & STRUCTURE

We are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Designer to join our engineering team supporting large-scale onshore oil & gas EPC projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality civil and structural design deliverables during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop detailed civil and structural design drawings and 3D models for onshore oil & gas facilities.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, concrete and steel detailing drawings, foundation layouts, underground utility layouts, grading plans, road layouts, drainage systems, and plot plans.
• Create and maintain 3D models using Smart 3D (SP3D/S3D) and generate associated 2D deliverables.
• Produce reinforcement detailing for concrete structures including equipment foundations, pipe racks, substations, control buildings, and process structures.
• Prepare structural steel detailing drawings for platforms, pipe racks, access structures, equipment support structures, and miscellaneous steel.
• Coordinate with Civil & Structural Engineers to incorporate design calculations and engineering requirements into design deliverables.
• Interface with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, and Architectural disciplines to ensure multidisciplinary design integration.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate vendor data into project design documents where applicable.
• Ensure all drawings and models comply with project specifications, company procedures, client standards, and applicable international codes.
• Participate in model reviews, design reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Generate material take-offs (MTOs) from drawings and 3D models.
• Address design comments and support engineering teams during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Maintain quality and consistency of design deliverables throughout project execution.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience as a Civil & Structural Designer within Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience supporting FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of large-scale onshore oil & gas developments.
• Strong experience in designing and detailing: Structural steel structures, Reinforced concrete structures, Equipment foundations, Pipe racks, Buildings and substations, Roads and drainage systems, Underground utility networks
• Previous experience on Middle East oil & gas projects is mandatory.
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield developments is highly desirable.
• Software Skills- AutoCAD, Smart 3D (SP3D/S3D), MicroStation, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tekla Structures, SmartSketch
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering drawings, detailing practices, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete detailing and structural steel fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of international standards and codes including ACI, AISC, ASTM, ASCE, BS, and Eurocodes.
• Understanding of oil & gas facility layouts, underground services, and infrastructure design requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and convert them into practical design deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
