Job summary

Gloria Jeans in Dubai seeks a Senior Designer to own the design for assigned categories from trend research through production handover, working daily with suppliers to turn concept into a commercially sound collection.

This is an in-house, individual contributor role based in Dubai with relocation and travel to supplier factories as needed. Fluency in English and a strong portfolio are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing in-house for a brand-side design team.
• Strong hands-on design skills across the full process: concept, technical drawing, fit, and supplier-facing production follow-through.
• Comfort working directly with international suppliers on sampling and fit.
• Current, applied use of AI or digital design tools in your workflow.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating range and commercial sensibility.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to relocate to Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Research trends, competitors and street style to set the design direction for each collection.
• Design garments aligned with brand identity, from concept sketches through to final tech packs.
• Collaborate daily with suppliers to develop first samples, and give detailed fit comments through to production-ready approval.
• Own the full category calendar — balancing design vision with commercial and timeline targets.
• Travel to supplier factories to oversee quality and resolve fit or construction issues in person.
• Contribute to and, where relevant, lead special projects and brand collaborations.

The role

The Senior Designer owns design for their assigned categories at Gloria Jeans, from first trend research through to production handover. This role reports to the Head of Design and sits inside our in-house brand-side design team, working daily with suppliers to turn concept into a commercially sound, trend-right collection.

This is an individual contributor role, fully based in Dubai, with relocation required and travel to supplier factories as needed.

What success looks like

Within the first year, collections designed under this role are trend-right, delivered on calendar, and adopted into the range without rework. The role will deliver:

• Strong first-fit approval rate, with minimal rounds back to supplier.
• On-time delivery from concept to production across the seasonal calendar.
• Accurate, complete tech packs in the PLM system.
• Healthy sell-through on designed lines.
