A leading construction and civil engineering company is seeking a Senior Design Mechanical & Plumbing Engineer to provide engineering services for projects in the UAE and internationally. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in mechanical design and design review, particularly in compliance with local regulations and codes. This role involves ensuring high-quality delivery, attending site visits, and collaborating with the commercial team to identify business opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience, including 4 years in Abu Dhabi.
• Experienced in international codes and local regulations.
• Fluent in English. Arabic recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mechanical & Plumbing engineering services for building and infrastructure projects.
• Review HVAC and Plumbing designs as per Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.

Senior Design Mechanical & Plumbing Engineer

• Provide Mechanical & Plumbing engineering services, including but not limited to, design and design review services, for building and infrastructure projects in the UAE and internationally.
• Review of HVAC and Plumbing designs, calculations and reports, as per Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.
• Attend site visits and meetings as required by the project and the clients.
• Identify business opportunities for SOCOTEC and work closely with the Commercial team to develop these.
• Assist the Commercial team with the preparation of fee proposals and quotations.
• Liaise with Technical Manager and Accountant for reporting and invoicing.
• Assist Technical Manager, Accountant and Managing Director in analyzing the financial data associated with your projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the delivery of the highest quality of work to SOCOTEC clients.
• Deliver services within the timeframes dictated by the client and SOCOTEC.
• Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out as per the relevant instructions.
• Consistently exceed clients expectations.
• Comply with SOCOTEC s group policies and procedures.
• Achieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplines.
• Take an active and full role in the quality assurance of services delivered by SOCOTEC through document review, supervision, audit and assessment of other staff members, providing support and leadership to the engineering team.
• Stand out as a good example to all staff.
• Undertake such other responsibilities that might reasonably be required by the company.
• Ensure the highest standards of administration.

• Comply with Socotec International and client quality, safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
• Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.
