Role Overview

As a Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design process throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to meet project objectives and client expectations. You will support the Programme or Design Director and Senior Project Manager in delivering scope of work to client standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure adherence to AtkinsRéalis and client processes, forms, and deliverables.
  2. Develop scope of services for Lead Design Consultants (LDC).
  3. Manage procurement of Design Consultants.
  4. Develop and implement the Design Management Plan (DMP).
  5. Create a design responsibility matrix to clarify roles among all stakeholders.
  6. Assist in developing the Project Quality Plan.
  7. Manage LDCs to deliver quality, timely, and within-budget outputs.
  8. Oversee activities of Design Consultants, ensuring quality and policy compliance.
  9. Act as the main communication point between the client and LDC team.
  10. Manage the design process, including workshops, stage gate submissions, and approvals.
  11. Review deliverables for compliance with project and client requirements.
  12. Coordinate stakeholder meetings, documentation, and presentations.
  13. Maintain project information in SharePoint.
  14. Support change management processes, including cost and schedule adjustments.
  15. Manage risks related to schedule, budget, quality, and compliance.
  16. Monitor design schedule in collaboration with project controls and LDC.
  17. Ensure BIM requirements are met in collaboration with the BIM manager.
  18. Implement sustainability and LEED requirements.
  19. Develop statutory approval workflows and manage technical documentation for tenders.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of experience in design management, preferably on hospitality projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • LEED experience is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in the region, especially in Saudi Arabia, is preferred.
  • Strong team and client-facing skills.
  • Active leadership style.
