DAMAC Digital is looking for experienced senior design and engineering professionals to provide leadership across the design and engineering activities for our growing portfolio of data centre developments.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for professionals with strong experience in, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture particularly within data centres, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale, colocation, or other technically complex developments.

The role will provide strategic technical leadership within the relevant discipline, working closely with multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, project delivery teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are developed and delivered in line with business objectives, technical requirements, quality standards, programme, budget, sustainability targets, and applicable international and local standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in design governance, technical decision-making, design coordination, standardisation, innovation, and the resolution of complex design challenges throughout the project lifecycle

Key Accountabilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership within the relevant discipline across DAMAC Digital data centre projects.
• Lead and oversee design development from concept and schematic design through detailed design, IFC, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to internal teams, international consultants, and specialist design partners.
• Ensure effective multidisciplinary coordination and integration across Architecture, Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, ELV, Security, Fire & Life Safety, and other specialist disciplines.
• Establish and maintain high standards of design quality, technical governance, coordination, and design delivery.
• Review and challenge design solutions to ensure they meet requirements for reliability, resilience, scalability, efficiency, maintainability, operational performance, and constructability.
• Lead design reviews, technical workshops, design risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve complex technical and design issues, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of design standards, specifications, guidelines, and standardised solutions across data centre projects.
• Drive innovation and design optimisation while maintaining project requirements, quality, safety, reliability, and operational objectives.
• Provide technical input into consultant and contractor selection, procurement activities, tender evaluations, and technical proposal assessments.
• Work closely with project delivery, commercial, procurement, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local authority requirements, building regulations, data centre standards, sustainability requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical support throughout construction, testing and commissioning, and project handover.
• Represent the design function in senior stakeholder discussions and provide clear technical recommendations and decision-making on complex matters.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Architecture, Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline from a recognised university. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant design, engineering, or design management experience, with significant experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale, colocation, or similarly complex developments.
• Proven experience leading design activities for large-scale, technically complex projects.
• Strong technical expertise within one or more of the following disciplines:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary data centre design and the interfaces between different engineering and design disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience managing international design consultants, multidisciplinary teams, and specialist consultants.
• Strong knowledge of design management, technical governance, design reviews, BIM coordination, design risk management, value engineering, and constructability.
• Experience across the complete project lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, tender documentation, construction support, testing and commissioning, and handover.
• Strong understanding of international standards, local authority requirements, building codes, data centre standards, sustainability requirements, and industry best practices.
• Strong commercial awareness, including experience with scope management, value engineering, procurement support, and consultant/contractor proposal evaluation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
