Job summary

IH Selection is working with a leading Mission Critical Design consultancy to appoint a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer based in Abu Dhabi. You will lead the mechanical design for data center projects, including a 200MW expansion for a major operator over the next two years.

You will oversee development, coordination and delivery of designs, ensure resilience and energy efficiency, and manage a team of engineers while guiding client engagements across a portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in Data Center design.
• 5+ years design consulting experience.
• Strong client / stakeholder management skills.
• BSc Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• CDCP certified (not essential).

My client, a leading Mission Critical Design consultancy, are looking to identify Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in Data Center design to join the team based out of Abu Dhabi to focus on Data Design projects, including a 200MW Data Center expansion over the next 2 years for a leading operator.

This is an exciting role offering opportunities to lead the design on a high profile AI Hyperscale data center expansion.

The role will be responsible for leading the development, coordination and delivery of mechanical engineering designs for data center projects, ensuring resilience, energy efficiency, scalability and operational reliability.

In addition to leading design activities, the role will be responsible for an established team of mechanical design engineer, providing guidance and leadership whilst managing client engagements across a portfolio of design projects.

Suitable candidates will have:

• 10 years+ experience in Mechanical Design Engineering
• 5 years+ experience in Data Center design
• 5 years design consulting experience
• Strong client / stakeholder management skills
• BSc Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• CDCP certified (not essential)
