Responsibilities:
- Preparation of all design stages of road geometry, signing and marking, ancillary works of major urban and interurban road projects, including tunnels, sophisticated grade separation interchanges, and service roads. This involves investigation of alternative routes and preparation of main bill of quantities.
- Assigning work to junior engineers, supervising work, and acquiring road design approvals.
- Coordination with local authorities for road geometry and TIS approvals.
- Responsible for submission, discussion, and follow-up with local authorities for approvals and permits in coordination with the department's local authority engineer.
- Work collaboratively with the design team, subconsultants, and clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Responsible for obtaining road design approvals, working closely with TIS consultants and authorities.
- Provide design support during the construction stage.
- Lead the highway team, coordinate with other design disciplines, and communicate with the client.
- Perform interdisciplinary reviews and provide data to ensure compatible design.
- Apply company design standards and methods.
- Prepare manpower estimates.
- Design grade-separated interchanges and complex interchanges.
- Design junctions of roundabouts and signalized junctions, including horizontal and vertical alignments and site grading.
- Design roads in a 3D environment, including cross-sections and earthwork quantities from 3D models.
- Conduct pavement design and prepare related reports.
- Prepare presentations for clients using PowerPoint or similar software.
- Review supplier data and manufacturer drawings.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in UAE and KSA working on public and private sector projects, with at least 5 years with a recognized consultancy or PMC.
- Approved status with DMT and RTA preferred.
- Knowledge of local authority procedures, standards, and regulations in UAE and KSA.
- Expertise in Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with local authority approval procedures related to road design, including NOC/approval/permit processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, minimum 10 years of UAE and KSA experience, including 5 years with a recognized consultancy or PMC; Master's preferred.
- Knowledge of local authority procedures, standards, and regulations in UAE and KSA.
- Expertise in Civil 3D, highway design principles, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage systems.
- Proven track record managing complex highway projects from concept to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Approved status with DMT and RTA is preferred.
