Job summary

Cognite in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data pipelines using Cognite Data Fusion, Python, SQL and REST APIs. You will collaborate with data scientists, project managers, and engineers to deliver industrial data solutions that empower customers to make informed decisions.

The role requires 8+ years in a customer-facing, data-intensive environment, Kubernetes experience, and cloud familiarity (GCP/Azure).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years in a customer-facing, data-intensive role.
• Experience delivering production-grade data pipelines using Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
• Experience with distributed computing such as Kubernetes and managed cloud services (GCP and/or Azure).
• Domain knowledge in oil and gas or manufacturing is a plus.
• DevOps mindset with Git, CI/CD, and deployment environments.
• Enjoys cross-functional collaboration and independent problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable data engineering solutions using Cognite Data Fusion.
• Drive integrations, extractions, data modeling, and analysis with Python/SQL/REST APIs.
• Create custom data models for data discovery and cleansing.
• Collaborate with data scientists, project managers, and solution architects to maximize value.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices for maintainable code.
• Support customers and partners in data engineering tasks with Cognite products.
• Contribute to Cognite tools and SDKs; translate customer needs into product work.
