We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager with a pre-contract bias to support our exciting growth plans working with our key clients. The Senior Cost Manager will support the successful delivery of our clients' capital projects and programmes of work.
The Senior Cost Manager will join an established team of like-minded experts passionate about innovation and growth. They will provide comprehensive, accurate, and value-driven services for large, high-profile, and exciting key clients.
The role encompasses all aspects of cost management throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial inception/business case to completion. It also offers opportunities to support business growth and team development.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management from project inception to completion.
- Maintain high standards of professional competence, demonstrating expertise in dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the company's profile.
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence through effective communication and utilization of performance management processes and technical networks.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed cost forecasts and budget reports, analyze variances, and identify trends to support financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs, including external sub-consultancy services and overheads.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor expenditures, addressing issues that could lead to budget overruns.
- Review and approve invoices and claims from external and internal suppliers, ensuring accuracy and justification.
- Possess strong pre-contract cost management experience.
- Have significant experience and a proven track record in the Cost Management/Quantity Surveying field.
- Experience working within integrated multi-organization collaborative teams.
- Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and familiarity with project management processes.
- Conduct post-project financial audits to assess cost management performance and extract lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications :
- Education: A degree in finance, accounting, QS, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 15 years in cost and commercial management within the real estate sector, preferably with leading international consultancy firms. Experience in the Middle East is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in financial management and market analysis.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships and leading teams effectively.
