Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Certification in CCP, PMP, CMA, CPA, MRICS, or equivalent preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in cost control, project controls, or related fields.
• Experience in EPC/Oil & Gas/Construction projects is preferred.
• Experience managing medium- to large-scale project budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, baselines, estimates, and cost breakdown structures.
• Establish cost control procedures and monitor commitments, expenditures, and variances.
• Prepare cost performance reports, dashboards, trend analysis, and corrective actions including EVM.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, and final cost reporting.
• Monitor profitability, margins, contractual costs, variations, and cost impact of scope changes.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities, maintain risk registers and contingency plans.

Role overview

KBR is seeking a Senior Cost Controller with MEGA EPC project experience for a PMC project based in Abu Dhabi.

The role oversees project cost management, budget control, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, and performance monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.

The position provides financial analysis and cost-risk insight to project management and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, cost baselines, estimates, and cost breakdown structures.
• Establish cost control procedures and monitor commitments, expenditures, budget utilization, and cost variances.
• Prepare cost performance reports, dashboards, trend analysis, corrective-action recommendations, and EVM analysis.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, EAC and ETC reports, and final cost reporting.
• Monitor profitability, margins, contractual costs, variations, claims, and the financial impact of scope changes.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities, maintain risk registers and contingency plans, and support project risk reviews.
• Coordinate with project management, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, commercial teams, clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, project procedures, contractual requirements, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required.
• CCP, PMP, CMA, CPA, MRICS, or an equivalent professional certification is preferred.
• 15 years of experience in cost control, project controls, commercial management, or project finance is required.
• Experience in EPC, Oil and Gas, Construction, Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, or Industrial projects is preferred.
• Experience managing medium- to large-scale project budgets is required.

Technical skills and competencies

• Cost control, budget management, cost forecasting, financial analysis, EVM, cash flow management, and contract administration are required.
• Experience with Primavera P6, SAP or Oracle ERP, advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools is required or preferred as specified.
• Claims and variation management, project risk management, and financial and commercial acumen are required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills are required.
