JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:

Senior Contracts Engineer

KBR is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer for an EPCM project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Contracts Engineer should have experience in tendering and awarding major EPCM and construction contracts on lump sum, re-measure, reimbursable, and/or unit rate basis.

Responsibilities include protecting the CONTRACTOR Company from contractual risks by promoting best practices in contracting methodology and practices.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Demonstrating a commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Developing contract strategies.
  • Issuing ATT (Approval to Tender) and ATA (Approval to Award).
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to develop prequalification questionnaires and analyze responses.
  • Compiling tender lists and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Preparing complete and viable tender documentation.
  • Issuing tender documentation and overseeing clarification meetings.
  • Disseminating information to/from tenderers and issuing tender bulletins.
  • Facilitating and recording bid openings.
  • Ensuring timely and meaningful technical evaluations.
  • Analyzing commercial tenders and distributing them appropriately.
  • Managing tender clarification documentation and meetings.
  • Developing negotiation strategies and contract documents.
  • Issuing letters of intent and managing contract issuance.
  • Conducting kick-off meetings and maintaining a savings register.
  • Handling correspondence, call-off orders, claims analysis, and claims register maintenance.
  • Contract close-out processes.

Education, Skills & Experience:

Education: BSc. degree in Legal, Business, or Engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or equivalent).

Experience and Skills: Preferably 5+ years in a similar role within a brownfield project, or a total of 15+ years in contracting and procurement in the oil & gas or petrochemical sector. For contract engineers, at least 2 years in a similar role and 10 years overall experience.
