A leading recruitment firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Engineer for a vital role in managing contractual aspects across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in the real estate and construction sectors, focusing on contract negotiation and administration, ensuring alignment with legal and company standards.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Engineer to manage and oversee the contractual aspects of our broad range of projects. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) or real estate sector, demonstrating strong negotiation abilities and in-depth expertise in contract administration. This role is key in ensuring adherence to contractual requirements while maintaining effective collaboration with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: • Draft, evaluate, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including consultancy and construction agreements. • Ensure all contract terms align with company standards, legal frameworks, and specific project needs. • Monitor compliance with contract conditions, key deliverables, and timelines across all involved parties. • Manage contract variations, claims, and extensions of time in accordance with established terms. • Prepare comprehensive tender documentation for construction projects. • Identify and manage contractual risks, aiming to limit potential liabilities. • Stay updated on FIDIC standards and relevant local construction laws. • Collaborate with legal, commercial, and project teams to align contract provisions with project objectives. • Maintain detailed and organized records of all contract documents, communications, and modifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. • Additional certifications in contract law or quantity surveying (e.g., RICS, CIArb, or equivalent) are advantageous. • At least 10 years of experience in real estate development or construction, ideally within the UAE or GCC. • Strong competence in drafting, analyzing, and negotiating contracts. • Proven knowledge of FIDIC 1999/2017 standard contract forms. • Extensive experience in preparing, assessing, and defending claims. • Hands-on experience with managing variations, EOTs, and cost-related claims. • Deep understanding of local legal frameworks impacting real estate and construction. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. • Driven and results-focused, committed to delivering operational excellence.
