Senior Contracts Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contracts Engineer. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong background in petrochemical and polyethylene projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage contracts related to petrochemical, polyethylene, and oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and best practices.
2. Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
3. Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and vendors to mitigate risks and resolve any contractual issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
4. Provide expert guidance and advice to project managers and senior leadership on contract-related matters, including claims, variations, and disputes.
5. Review and approve subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring they meet the required specifications and contractual obligations.
6. Monitor project progress and identify any potential contractual or legal risks, providing recommendations to mitigate them.
7. Ensure accurate reporting of contract performance, including risk management, cost control, and compliance with terms and conditions.
8. Support the development of procurement strategies and contribute to the preparation of tender documentation and bid evaluations.
9. Mentor and lead junior contracts engineers and support their professional development.

Key Requirements

1. Bachelors degree in engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with a strong background in petrochemical and polyethylene projects.
3. Proven experience working in a PMC role, overseeing large-scale projects from a contract administration perspective.
4. Deep understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and risk management principles.
5. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes efficiently.
6. Knowledge of industry-specific standards, regulations, and practices related to contracts in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.
7. Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
