Responsibilities
  • This role requires a deep understanding of contract law, project management, financial analysis, negotiation, and effective communication to ensure that contractual obligations are met while minimizing risks and maximizing benefits for the organization.
  • The candidate will work closely with project teams, client, legal advisors, and stakeholders to navigate contractual matters and resolve claims, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence.
  • Advises on contractual matters and manages the contractual correspondences in accordance with the Prime Contract Terms and Conditions, specifications and drawings including construction change orders.
  • Manages the contractual commitments and performance of the work according to the Client’s instructions, Specifications and Drawings, and the Terms and Conditions of the Contract, including construction Change Orders.
  • Assisting clients with the preparation of their Extension of Time (EOT) claims or responding to the Contractor’s Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Review and interpret contract documents (Contract conditions, scope of works, drawings), contract time schedule, as-built time schedule and verify actual dates, list of delay events and identify priorities with the Client to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and milestones.
  • Identify and assess project delays by analysing schedules, progress reports, and relevant documentation, collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine the causes of delays, including unforeseen events, changes in scope, and external factors.
  • Utilize delay analysis methodologies to quantify the impact of delays on project schedules and costs.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate and manage risks that could impact project timelines and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare delay reports and documentation to support claims or dispute resolution processes and provide expert opinions on delay-related matters during negotiations, mediations, or legal proceedings.
  • Provides high quality advice on all pre-contract contractual matters including procurement and contracting strategy and tactics.
  • Manage contract variations and change orders, documenting and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitors, evaluates and prepares fully supported estimates and claims for alternations/variations to the Contract.
Requirements
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in Managing the contractual commitments.
  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering / Bachelor of Laws or related.
  • Mandatory Membership: Being MRICS Chartered (Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors)
