Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a senior Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual activities from the Commercial Director’s office in Abu Dhabi. The role requires extensive experience in railway/transport projects, a strong background in construction law, and professional MRICS/FRICS qualifications.

GCC experience is a plus and the candidate will manage variations, guarantees, and procurement under multiple contract forms.

Qualifications

Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in commercial/contracts management for large rail/transport projects.
MRICS/FRICS qualified; MCIArb/FCIArb is a plus
LLM/MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution desirable
GCC experience is a plus
Proven ability to perform independently with excellent written and oral communications

Responsibilities

Initiate and vet outgoing contractual correspondence towards the Contractor and draft responses to contractual communications.
Follow-up on guarantees and insurances provided by the Contractor and their value changes as required by the Contract.
Supervise the activities of the Quantity Surveyor for progress payments and evaluation of work against provisional sums.
Maintain cost databases and risk registers to support variation and claims management and external/internal reporting.
Collaborate with the Senior Planning Engineer to monitor progress and schedule adherence for variation and claims management.
