Hill International is seeking a Senior Construction Manager with strong hospital project experience or experience in complex/large projects for an ongoing project in Abu Dhabi.
Qualifications:
- B. Sc. in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or higher qualification
- At least 15 years of overall experience
- Minimum of 12 years in project construction
- Experience in hospital projects or large/complex projects
- Experience with building projects; experience with infrastructure is a plus
- Background in QAQC
Duties:
- Lead PMC staff to control project quality, safety, progress, and cost objectives, ensuring proper documentation control per company requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with the Company Project Manager regarding project progress and concerns.
- Propose PMC procedures to ensure compliance with contract and company standards.
- Establish and maintain project procedures for design and construction supervision.
- Prepare reports on project issues and recommend solutions.
- Advise on potential variations impacting scope, cost, or schedule.
- Plan PMC mobilization, demobilization, leave, and replacements.
- Assess variations and claims, reporting to management.
- Advise on project schedule slippages and corrective actions.
- Participate in audits and review monthly progress invoices.
- Oversee PMC staff performance and compliance.
- Review reports from contractors, providing feedback on non-compliance or concerns.
- Evaluate change requests and recommend actions.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings.
Supervision of PMC Team:
- Ensure PMC procedures are approved and implemented.
- Conduct induction for PMC staff.
- Ensure staff awareness of project requirements and documentation.
- Review design, tender, and contract documents for deficiencies.
- Review contractor site organization and personnel.
- Monitor contractor equipment and manpower proposals.
- Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and material submittals.
- Visit sites regularly for monitoring and advising.
- Manage RFIs, quality, safety, and progress issues.
- Lead review of construction methodology, safety, and quality plans.
- Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate final inspections, punch list, and closeout documentation.
